Problem With snoopy's Client?
Ive no idea about coding at all. And i dont wanna ever bother with it .. just to much to take in my life's complicatd enough without learning C++ So when it comes to your everyday live's where compiling seems like a normal task to me it seems hard even tho i have Microsoft Visual C++ Express. I dont understand it and i dont want to understand it. BUT Now im left with only two option. i can Compile Snoopys Client and be happy or i can use the Login.cfg that came with it and be even happier since it overides Ip's and ports built into the client. Or does it? i dont quite understand how this works. But when the client is using the Login.cfg it works fine on a wan ip. but when it comes to lan like for example 192.168.2.3 It doesnt want to work at all. Before u say it yes i have a router yes its configured propely and yes i can play on it, oh and also ive hexed another client not that up to date but still it lets me log in and everything with my lan ip. so what i was wondering is why isnt the client working with the login.cfg? its supposed to overide the settings built into the client.. surely there must be a reason why it isnt excepting a lan ip...

Code: Select all
game-server-mode = LAN

Tried it mate Still the same thing. client keeps repeating itself about the world server not being active..Drazz wrote:mmm, try withBlazin wrote: Ive no idea about coding at all. in Login.cfgCode: Select all
game-server-mode = LAN
The ip thats in the old client *not snoopys client* is a Lan ip. and it works perfect, Snoopys client however is using the login.cfg to connect to the server.. Which is basicly the same as putting the ip and port into the client seeing as the login.cfg overides the settings hexed into the client. Snoopys has a lan ip also and yes everything is correct, it looks like it doesnt want to read from the login.cfg. however i tried to connect straight to the internal port and it bypassed the login server but then disconnected. my server reported a hack.. but thats normal atleast it told me that the client was working. But the port im using for the login server is 2848 now take a look at this
[CONFIG]
log-server-address = 192.168.2.3
log-server-port = 2848
game-server-mode = INTERNET
// LAN: forces router compatibility, but no more multi-host possible.
// INTERNET: standard mode.
// IP & port here overide IP/Ports coded in client.
This is the login.cfg that goes in my helbreath folder that the client use's to connect. Game server Mode - Internet and server side = Internet also. Since there back-to-front this is how we connect using a lan ip. So since its back to front we go with a Lan ip on the game server mode this time server and client. and can people connect to me? Yes they can because its using my Wan ip. So basicly yea .. its not liking a lan ip or something arrond that for the login server .. either that or port

No it Still doesnt work .. it continues to not conenct using a lan ip and the port 2848 in question. its like it doesnt want to know when it comes to the login server. but what i mean when i said it could conenct to world server etc was basicly that i changed the port in the clients login.cfg so it would Connect to an internal port and that way i could atleast see that it could conenct to another server. and yes it did my server reported a hack attempt .. BUT look at my login.cfg up in my last post. thats the exact thing its using atm and it will not conect to the login server at all it refuses to read from that filezonghui wrote: So you're saying it works now ? or it still doesn't work
Basically, this feature is really simple:
- From web -> Server, Clients knows ML IP then next IP's are sent by servers.
- From LAN to LAN, Clients knows either LAN or WAN IP, and router must be able to route connections from inside LAN to inside LAN. (Not all routers can do that, and I never saw this function documented...)
- This feature ignores the IP sent by server, and always uses the initial IP. THe result is that even if router cant route from LAN to LAN, the client will always call LAN IP.
