i would say best method of blocking packet hacks is giving every packet each time its send a ID* that the server can compair it to. if mismatch DC the client
. witch to do that will eather take alot of code or all the HB Server source, so i can modify all servers to ++ so many bytes on each message.
makeing it like imposable to send a modified packet.
thats what i would do anyway

ya depens on the ID your adding to the packet, i dont mean like ID like messageids they use already, i mean like something new and diffrent every time the message is sent, makeing it difficult for hackers to pinpoint what exacly they need to send in there packet to get the server to accept it. like mabey a math equation useing the Time the packet was sent. harder the math equation is

although im not putting alot of work into making it completly hard to hack.. it doesnt need much security.. HB Is outdated so i dont know if i even want to continue, this has been more of a base for another project im working on its nothing really big...
and if you try to decrypt the file without the key its just gunna corrupt the data >.< Key meaning the pass basicly..

the encryption is actually really really shitty at the moment..
At the moment its using cipherunicorn-A and DES based encryptions
CU-A is for the actuall strings and DES is for the files, so this project is just to test the CU-A compatibility and my CRC32 and shit.....
its been a fun and interesting project but imma put it on hold for a bit..

Your application idea seems pretty cool but on this days what people are programming for anti cheating in other games is like a proxy style filtering. Client comunicate with proxy encrypted then the proxy decrypt and communicate with server locally, this is also a good way to avoid dos attacks for common known servers.
