a multiclient hack question

I got a question about multiclient hack.
I cant make the multiclient hack. I used cheat engine to search '0543kjg3j31%', i found it and put 00 in the hex but nothing happened, multiclient didnt work.
I would like to know what does an unpacker do and which unpacker and hex editor you are using for the multiclient hack, so that I can do the same as you do to make the multiclient hack work.

On the ascii side does it look like ...........

ya, put the '00' in the hex(left) side and acsii(right) side will look like '............'

Make sure where the % is you dont leave it so it is 05 cause when you press 0 on the first part it will look like 05 and there will be a dot but it has to be 00 try that
