Better tell you never tryed any server with no hackers, I don't know weather your's is hack proof, but there some very very well protected servers around...this server is the only server with no hacker currently unless some1 made some hack
all other svr i play are like 80% hacker using net gay client
full screen crit cast with shield hack
unadvised hack client is not their match at all
And the last release of a351 compatible C++ sources will render more and more servers hack proof, even noob servers.

To answer to the main question, no HB is not dead, but player number will continue decrease. One off the main reason is the ease of hosting noob, short lived servers.
There is a few very different server's concept arround that are really different each other, but most noob servers look the same (High lvl/XP/items/PvP, free skills, short duration)

I wouldn't play any classic HB server anymore. Helbreath is boring, it's always the same shit. To tell you the truth, I played fairly Helbreath for 2 weeks, never really got high charsHypnotoad wrote: A game thats free, fun to play, has such a dedicated number of people working on it, doesn't deserve to die. Shouldn't be hard to do. But that's not the main goal.If there is enough good coding--fixing all hacks and bugs and cheats, and players dont have unexpected problems, the community can rely on itself for its own problems GMs arnt really needed. Only thing right now is that GMs host events, instead it can be can all be done by Automation...eg... at time X notify all logged in players a Zemstone has been hidden in middleland, at X time spawn a peice of meat on every tile in a WH and spawn a random item under one - people who participate get something in return doesnt have to be a marian plate everytime just enough to keep people interested, at X time spawn 1 helclaw in each town....All these events are automated and a timer occurs to remind players.... all elvine players get the message "You have 3 hours to kill the tigerworm in Elvine" after 3 hours monster dies by itself. No gms are needed, so no worry of players cheating, no curroption. Its like play helbreath and just experience it without interference.
Yeah, and it's hard to get a host...But the truth is right now the market is really low on people, and individuals are unwilling to change from their own server because they fear losing their hard work. So you see servers out there with 15 people, 20 people, 30 people, 50 people, instead of 1 server with 90+ people.
Also it is really laggy atm to even have so much people, that is why i think klks is trying to optimize and continue this project. To make everthing efficient to minimize the usage. It'll take a community to pull this off the right way, and i think it can be done.
We can just compile various clients with different languages.- multilanguage support but the majority in english

A NPC with it.- scripts to notify players of their progress vs everyone (not refered to as scripts or php, keep the game feeling there for new comers)

This is what makes a medieval game.- reskinning of client, change all button positions, the gui right now is huge minimize it to the bottom corner. The official skin is too old fasioned and brown
That's alot of work.- new features steal some from the new games (new npc allowing an auction system, a npc thats a mailbox for a mail system, allow guilds to form alligances with other guilds and then give them a headquarters together, have 5 total alligances Earth, Wind, Ice, Fire, Poison and by the guilds name put a little icon notifying which alligiance is this guild partnered with. They each have their own hg on a map zone designed on their element. Make them have a purpose like earning alligance income to buy npcs around their HQ to protect their area from raiders...the options are limitless. If enemy town raids your HQ and captures your flag, your town loses its ownership of that alligience and must fight to regain it.) As you can see new features can make the game more interesting/complex depending on what is done
800x600 you mean? Helbreath was designed to run on 640x480.- 640x800 fullscreen blech
1st - It may look too small.
2nd - It may run slow, Helbreath's graphic engine is sucky.

The good 1's tht are left are Secret,HBExalthed,HBXtreme..
other are completelly lames,at least the 1's I played..
