Hosting A Map Behind A Router...help.

Okay my friend is hosting the server with me.

He is fine, he isnt behind a router, I am.

I am gonna host 2 maps like maybe hunztone and neutral..hes gonna host aresden, elvine, gateserver, log server and main log server.

This is what his gateserver.cfg looks like..

[CONFIG]

gate-server-address = 24.83.95.38
gate-server-port = 6502

game-server-list = 24.83.95.38
game-server-list = 24.83.95.38
game-server-address = 24.83.95.38
game-server-address = 24.83.95.38
game-server-port = 2101
build-date = 1126

game-server-list = 24.83.95.38
game-server-list = 24.83.95.38

permitted-address = 24.83.95.38
permitted-address = 24.81.183.73 (MY EXTERNAL)

accept = 24.83.95.38
accept = 24.81.183.73 (MY EXTERNAL IP)

Now is that everything that needs to be done in the gateserver.cfg or does anything else need to be changed to my external IP?

Then..this is what my gserver.cfg looks like for the huntzones.

[CONFIG]

gate-server-dns = false
log-server-dns = false
game-server-name = Huntzone
game-server-address = 24.83.95.38 (his IP)
game-server-internal-address = 24.83.95.38 (DO I GOTTA CHANGE THAT TO MY INTERNAL IP??)
game-server-external-address = 24.81.183.73 (MY EXTERNAL IP)
game-server-port = 9903
log-server-address = 24.83.95.38 (his IP)
internal-log-server-port = 2500
gate-server-address = 24.83.95.38 (his IP)
gate-server-port = 6502
game-server-mode = INTERNET

Now with these current settings, when he puts the server up and I try and open the hgserver it tries to connect to the gate socket but it cant...any help?

hopefully you know how to port forward.. also depends on what kind of router you have...yes you need to change it to your internal ip...if this still doesn't work out.. theres another way..

game-server-internal-address = UR INTERNAL IP

OKay I tried how you said..and still no success.

thats how it looks, 192.168.1.103 is my internal IP...i have a linksys router..my portforwarding should be woorking, and even if it isnt I enabled dmz for a sec to try, still no luck.

anyone else?

oi... i thought you were trying to connect to the ml... umm... you shouldn't be able to connect to the gateserver like that... you need to host your own gateserver....

I always thought that if he added my IP to the verified IP list and the accept = MY IP then it should work...

ya thats how i did it

... but i wasnt hosting behind a router.... but.. u can try it with hoseing your own gateserver

.. iv never tryed it but .. i hear it works

.. mabey its the trick for the people hosting behind router

k but that still doesnt help me even connect at all.
