I've noticed alot of the firewalls i've tested say they block that incoming event(s) but it still eats up the network, Anyone had any great luck with any other firewalls, i"ve tested the "best" I dont think they are, Mcafee, Norton, I'd say they're just the biggest sellers. I've got a router coming, So I think once i hook that up it wont eat any network. Anyone else?

Explain "Eating bandwidth." If you get sent packets, what stops them? A firewall on your computer blocks them to your computer, but you still get them right? How will a router make that any different? You still get data on your connection, only difference your computer never sees it. Waste of money and time.

so... the only way is to block that traffic from your ISP before it gets to your bandwith?

No use of ZoneAlarm or NetPeeker or router?

all of it still goes to you, therefore using your bandwidth. if they can use enough of it then you cant recieve anything but what they are sending you because you're getting so much. it doesnt matter what you do to block it, as long as your isp sends it in your direction it takes up bandwidth.

at least thats from my brief understanding.
