Uh, no it isn't. Cleroth you're full of shit too. Lightwave, however, is a very good program which is heavily used in the gaming industry to compile engines, as is Maya. Maya is to be the new company standard with the new age media; being that it is the most powerful of all the engines(in compilation with the unreal engine;so were a couple other programs)Cleroth wrote: could be possible. tough 3DS is more used on games and Maya on films. Another good 3D program is Lightwave wich many "pro" uses... there is no actual pro on art. art is art , if u can do a good thing with 3DS, Milk 3D or any other "shitty" program its ok. what is important is the result

Hm, all the 3d in hb was done in 3dsmax, from versions 2.5 to 5. You cannot say they are amateurs in 3d. And if you can, well, MY game art is done in 3d studio max and my game should be released soon...and then you'll be able to see for yourself whether 3dsmax is "non-pro"...I took a professional discreet 3d studio max class (in a classroom, not online).youth89 wrote: Notice how I said pro. But since you are so passionate about Maya, why don't you post a thing or two you've made in it? A picture says more than a thousand words, unless you are Herman Melville. And, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

I'm still waiting for an answer on that maya question. I think it is only fair that, if you think it is so superior, you post a screen or two of your maya masterpieces.
Since you haven't had time to do so, I did some digging and found this graphic made with Maya by Lucasarts, I think it is intended to be used in Episode VII: The Wrath of Flan.

Notice that it is far more realistic and convincing than the graphics used for Jar Jar Binks in episode one. I think Lucas was right in going digital, we could never obtain this level of realism otherwise.

It's easy to say helbreaths animation is terrible; unrealistic in proportion and in depth detail.MOG Hackintosh wrote: Hm, all the 3d in hb was done in 3dsmax, from versions 2.5 to 5. I also don't take to projection tactics either. I have shown a few my work and they were heavily impressed; however, 3d animation is one of the most easy tasks on the face of the planet to do. 2d animation is just as easy, I can't see why people are so captivated by it. Go draw or paint, thats an incredible talent.
By the way, I think you meant to refer to Dickinson. If memory serves me right, Melville was highly publisized.
