How see the version of a server

its possible to know what version is using a server? There are few servers that have changed the server version and client it's packed, i want to see what version is it and use my hacked helgame.exe.

yes, but at screen it not shows real version. For ex. u can take an 3.51 helgame and modify the version inside, then u connect with 3.51 file to a 3.62 server and at screen it says 3.51 version, but u can connect.

For example extasis are doing it, u take a 3.62 o a 3.51 helgame and u can see wrong version, i think they changed version from server and helgame.exe and then was packed it.

uh, who cares about the server version?
cause your just limited to what the client can do

extasis have 3.62, but u can't connect with helgame 3.51 and 3.62.

i read in another forum that says they changed version number from helgame.exe and then they say its imposible to use hacks in their server, because no ones know the version number they use and only few people knows how change the version number from helgame.exe

Then i want to know how see the version frome this type of servers and how change it. Another idea is hack helgame ver 3.51 to disable check of version number, but i dont know if this check does it in server or in client.

even if you were able to switch the 2.51 client.. you'd end up crashig.. because of missing 3.6+ functions?
