Gate server promblem

when i open gtserver,the gate server address is always 169.254.64.187,i changed all cfg files,but still not work,how to fix it??

get a new gateserver and gateserver.cfg then..

my guess is your on win98. depending on your connection (should be dsl/cable) you could try setting up a static ip and that may get rid of your default generated windows private ip.

it dosn't matter how you set up your cfg, the gate server shows your actial ip address, if you have a router, it will show your internal ip (if cfg is set to internet...i think)

edit: replace the ips in the other cfgs to that ip to fix (worth a try...)

I have a weird gserver, if I set my gserver.cfg :
game-server-mode = internet

I can play on my host pc, but everyone else cant login, if I set
game-server-mode = LAN

then I cant play on my host pc but everyone else can.

well i read on the hbx forums about LAN hosting that I need to go to router setup and DMZ Host. Well what ip do I need to put in there?

My : 192.168.1.2 (looks very much like my standard gateway : 192.168.1.1)
or 62.166.65. and so on

thats my ip at www.whatismyip.com

Well ive put 192.168.1.2 in there but that doesnt let other ppl being able to join my server.

What the hell does Hypnotoad means with the last quarter of ur ip adress?

I mean come on in the hell doesnt know what the fuck 1/4 of an ip is!

1.2.3.4
1 == first fourth
2 == second fourth
3 == thrid fourth
4 == fourth fourth

a quarter is equaled to a fourth

NOW HOW HARD WAS THAT!!!!!!
