Has anyone managed to get it working?
Does it work correctly on newer versions?

Nope, don't think Beholder ever worked right with 2.191 servers. I tried and tried different things, but to no avail, so I guess it wasn't implemented. Maybe some crazy code injection would work but that's beyond me.
