ADSL HELP!

I got my adsl today, but it wont work, the problem is i bought them from a second hand computer shop. It wont connect to but just says "The Device is busy",
Is it the ADSL, or did i do something wrong?, can sum1 post a step-by-step guide on how to install adsl :S, im going insane.
*The thing didn't even come with a manual8

my adsl was just, plug in to adsl line, plug in computer ethernet card, put power on from adsl, put power on from computer and fuckedidoo i was in in-ter-neat

if it is an adsl box, you dont need to install anything. if it is an adsl card, you need to install drivers to it. usually you find drivers from manufacturers homepage.

This is what you can try doing. I think i got the same ADSL modem type as u...which is USB. It can be ethernet no worries.
Try unplugging it from the USB port or ethernet and uninstall the drivers, then reboot your system and plug the modem in. You should get a box within a few seconds saying something like ' A new device has been detected. This program will help you install it'. Then from there follow the onscreen instructions and whatnot, if it asks for the driver cd put that in ( should come with modem) or you can put in your windows CD.
After you have done that and everything is installed reboot again just to allow everything to take effect.
You ADSL should be working fine

adsl installation pisses me off, coz the ISP's in australia are assholes, u sit on the fone for an hour just to hear them say "no sorry, we cant help you over the phone, would you like us to......." and by this point u have hung up coz they are fuck knobs......

it doesnt happen often. the only time they had to come over is to see why i wasnt getting a connection which was due to bad wiring or somethin..
