mm some one knows, what are the best component for a good host? like ram, procesor, if exist a minimun requiments for a host. when u have a p4 2000 mhz and 556 ram the buffer from hgserver is problematic some one know the normal performance to work appropriately like host HB?

The better numbers the better environment for the server xD (remember the network speed, 5/5MB should be enough)

What I run to host...

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ (2.21Ghz)
1GB Kingston RAM (512 is Min. Req)
2.5mbit Connection

Helbreath really only needs about .5mbit or 1mbit connection, if your hosting with less then 50 players. That's from my experience of playing.

best is like some intel 4x proze
8gb or more ram
1000mb+ internet

You mean experience of me tell you.




The BARE MINIMUM:
256mb ram
1ghz proc

I ran old hbx with that setup and it ran smooth for the most part (I even played on that same comp with the server up) Worked well enough to have 100+ players.

Recommended:
512-1gb ram
1.5ghz+ proc

Best?:
4gb ram
2+ghz proc

Right now I'm running hbx (partly split):
Logs run on 2ghz sempron 2gb ram. I swap the hgs back and forth between both my comps for debugging purposes, but right now they are running on my main comp which is 4gb Corsair ram and AMD 4800+ X2 (dual core). Right now they use about 3-12% cpu total never going higher. My setup is overkill for hb though. If the machine is DEDICATED to the hb server, you don't really need that much. Top priority is the bandwidth. The server bins can practically run on any specs. Shit, pull out some 486DXs and they'll run on it. Maybe with like 90% usage, but they'll run and possibly with minimal lag.

Zero, do tell me, are Sempron's even good? The ones we have at school are horseshit. Slower then a fucking snail... If you have the cash, might aswell go buy a Intel Quad Core.. 64GB RAM, and soemthing else...

my experience of hosting helbreat hserver ...he tell me ... when u playing u hace clost and character missed from main o disapear, like bug...but ..is problem from buffer of hg... need more ram etc.. :S

You make no sense.

Tommy, you can't have 64gb of ram in windows unless you get the datacenter edition which allows up to 128gb. Even then, you can't do a quad core. You'd have to do a quad proc otherwise there wouldn't be enough ram slots to stick 128gb in. You'd have to use 16x8GB sticks to do it.

Yeah that's true, but doesn't Crucial have a 16GB Stick? I've seen mobo's that support 64GB of ram. And, I was somewhat asking, what's better Sempron vs Athlon? You've done more hardcore gaming than I have, so that's what I was wanting to know...

Wait, let me get this straight. You have a Intel Pent 4 that runs 5.6Ghz? What the fuck? I thought the highes they got was 3.9Ghz, even with overclocking.
