You have no clue what you're doing and you keep repeating yourself instead of trying so go fuck off. and the modem doesn't have any setup page or something, unlike all the normal routers in the world.
but what strikes me the most is your first sentence. If you disable it any internet goes down, are you seriously that stupid as to not know what your ip is? Were you last in line for common sense?
don't act yourself stupid, coz you know that's what i meant.
the connection is the Barak013_L2TP
and the network card is the Local Area Connection,
the Barak's ip is my external (i even wrote that on the picture)
and the Local Area Connection's ip is internal
now he don't have a router, but still if i shutdown the Local Area Connection the internet (Barak) goes with it.
to tester: router* instead of modem.

Certainly not, we have a wireless router at home and its certainly not bluetooth, cos bluetooth is too slow for a internal networc with usually is 100MB/s, and thats what most ppl think is their internet speed, WRONG!! I dont remember how to check the actual internet speed to the internetprovider, but I once saw it sumwhere . The wireless network is WLAN, I dont know what its originally is, but WLAN uses a sort of radiowawes wich goes with the speed of light, and bluetooth uses some kind of soudwaves wich goes at a speed of ~340m/s (light is about 300,000km/s). So there is a big difference .Sentinel wrote: Could it be a bluetooth connection? I know I can connect to my Cellphone through my computer using bluetooth. Btw, any1 have any idea of how to set up a internal home network, we use A-link router, and it has a setting where you put the internal ips, but you cant seem to get the router to host as a server, so we could share printers/folders...

not that a cable modem is just a cable.
this guy as a cable modem, the internet isn't DSL.
look this how things are:
1.there is a broadband connection and a Local Area Connection.
2.there is a cable modem, from the modem there is a network cable from the modem to his computer, and a cable to the cable(cable like tv of course).
3.the modem is a modem and not a router.
4.he has 2 ips,on external and one "not external" let's call it.
5.there is no router, the modem and the computer is not connected to a router.
6.he don't have a local computer network in his house.
7.so what do we do now?

"Broadband connection and local area connection". Which is it? You claim the Local connection is the internet which makes IT the broadband. What is the miniport one used for? Do you even know? Better yet, do you have the intelligence to find out?

If you have a router it -should- use DHCP and auto-assign all of the computers connected to the router with IP addresses automatically, depending on what port they're in. You also need to setup the computers themselves for networking, and if you want to share printers/folders the easiest thing to do is just run the Windows Home Networking wizard. You can find about 900 million tutorials about it on the internet if you can't read the instructions it has in there already.Sprint wrote:Certainly not, we have a wireless router at home and its certainly not bluetooth, cos bluetooth is too slow for a internal networc with usually is 100MB/s, and thats what most ppl think is their internet speed, WRONG!! The router doesn't "host as a server" at all. The router does exactly what it says it does, it "routes". The router doesn't host anything, it just forwards network traffic where its told.

heres an easyer way,,,
dude.. list all of the ip addresses you can find on your pc, and ill tel you which are internal and which are external,
you can up a server by putting your local ip address in all the configs, and giving ppl ur internet ip to connect.
if you dont have a local ip address because ur using a straight modem that uses USB! (if it uses a network cable you definitly have an internal ip) then you can set a local ip address using your windows host file, which ill tell u about when uv told us the ip's u can find..
i take it ur wanting to just figure out how to up a server on your pc? i only read the last few posts here
P.S. start -> Run -> CMD -> ipconfig
to find the ip your computer recognises as its "local ip"
(this may not be a real local ip it may be an internet ip but its what your computer recognises as its "local" ip meaning the one it has immediate access to.
for prople with routers, this is normaly 192.168.1.2 or 192.168.0.1
or something along those lines,
for people with USB modems it will come up blank
for people with standard cable modems it can either show the real local ip or, the internet ip which looks more like 39.844,122.17
or something in that format.
either way, let us know what yours says and ill tell u how to set up a server.
