nubcakes, there were other 'OS' (could hardly call it an OS, more like a GUI for 1's and 0's) than windows at the time microsoft started. Besides other groups would have started without microsoft as well. Microsoft just has the best marketing, which is a shame. And Firefox is opensource, so why wouldn't there be Firefox without windows? Besides there is a linux version for Firefox too :s
