Problems After Char Create Screen

i searched for checksum, and the line above it had the ip address. i changed it to 127.0.0.1 was i supposed to change it to that or mine? i'm just playing alone and offline right now.

---Problem---
when i load my HGS server it goes socket 0-9 connected then it says: gate-socket connection counting... and keeps counting....

i ignored this and went on in to HB and got to the char creation screen and it had my char there. but when i click my char it goes to a black screen with CONNECTION LOST.....

i'm a bit confused on all this server stuff but it's a learning experience. i've been tinkering with files for about an hour and it has either set me back or just gotten me to the char creat. screen.

Also another wierd thing i noticed, with the config files set like that when i start the gate server it says GateServer Address: "Some wierd ip that i have never seen b4"

Edit: 4got to add; I start my servers like this... Gateserver, MainLServer (home key), WorldLServer (Home key), HGServer

Im not sure if this will help but, you mite have not uploaded the Beginer Zone map....its the one called default in the map selection place. Hope it helps! :rolleyes:

:blink: and you cant use the IP 207.0.01 or something like that. it doenst work. it will not let you use anything

thank god! i'm not talking to a wall anymore!

and by loaded do u mean put in the gserver.cfg file? or is there a way to manually LOAD the map?

i went back through and put my ip in all the 120.0.0.1 spaces, and now my sub-log-sockets don't say connected anymore, and i get a NO MLS-Socket available error on my world log server.

also i noticed that when i open my gate server it always says listening but never says activated???

1.- put your ip on all cfg files, dont use 127.bla.bal, dont work
2.- if don't work yet, game-server-name and world-server-name must be the same i think

yah! the same MLS socket error happens to me- but my servers always say loaded. so my problem is the stupid socket thingy which wont let me log on...(change all your instances of 207.0.01 (whatever it is called) to your IP address) if you wanna talk Instant messenge me on aol instant messenger my screen name is CWCKUnal

U have to run the servers in that order:

MainLServer (home key)
WorldLServer (home key)
GateServer
HGServer

i am running them in that order... my gate server says listening, my world server has that MLX error (above post), and the Game server does not say connected after it says trying to connect with socket[X]........ grrrrrrrrrrr

this server uses Winsock 1.1 check ur version

can u take screenshots, run all 4 servers and take a shot from each screen pls after u run all of them

also is there a certain place i need to run these from? an ftp site? a certain folder? because as of now i'm runnign them from my desktop....
