You wouldn't get enought money to pay all computers, If you do Blizzard would sue you. Not a wise plan..

Of course, you always can host in your computer and play alone (like you did with ur HB files), but... mmorpg means Masive Multyplayer Online Rol Playing Game, if you do that you will get a Nerd Bored Loonely Rol Playing Game ... and the point of WoW is having fun, know what I mean?

2nd I could prolly host a server for a very short time , but i nvr payed attantion in oracle class ^_^


and 3rd why do ppl keep saying stuff like
"i wouldnt mess with GB" nvr understood that ^_^

So darkie duck, or anyone else, what do i have to do to get client source version 1.0 out of you. Sex you with binarydata perhaps? If i can get an old version of client source and continue building it up to 3.51 then maybe i can learn how to do it and then code 3.72 without unpacking. Sounds like alot of work but i dont see any of you actually releasing anything that is useful to everyone.

Actually goldenboy you can win against wow. Its the principles of economics combined with the experiences we have had with the helbreath community.

First a few things must be done in order for WoW to suffer as well as the private server community can actually be created.

Online Aspects:
- The server files have to be made public, via bittorrent. Public so every Tom, Dick, and Pablo can host his own server out of his pc. Bittorent so Blizzard can get an ironic Screw You. Bitorrent holds no person responsible at the moment. The only people who are suffering because of the bittorrent rush right now is the websites who host it, users who share arn't under any target at the moment. Also bittorrent is the method Blizzard used to update its versions. Its only sweet poetic justice that the server is shared by bittorrent.

- A manual has to be created explaining how to run a server, including requirements, database setup, etc. This is very important to getting the market full of a homogeonous product. Every person, specifically dumbasses, have to be able to host a server. If only 1 server says "come play wow its free on your server" then what will wow do attack you. If you and a ring of friends host a server, or few servers, you will be targetted together. If alot of people have alot of servers, can host it easily, quickly, and move around then there will be no problem with lawsuits. Specifically since when one server starts and blizzard shuts it down 5 more will take its place, etc.

- Helbreath did a great thing by going open source, unfortunatley Helbreath is probably a group of friends who worked out of their garage and coded helbreath. While Blizzard is a coorperation. It might be difficult to do it, but release the files go underground for a few months and see what happens. Blizzard will probably just stop after a while, and decide to improve their product instead of distroy small servers.

Economic Aspects:
- At the moment WoW is a monopoly. Blizzard sets the price what it wants, consumbers will demand it anyway. People love it like a drug, and Blizzard is the only company that can provide it for people. The opposite of a Monopoly is Perfect Competition. There has to be many providers, the small private servers. This will create dangerous competition for blizzard. They will probably respond first with threats, take down the largest servers (dont be the patse let some other people take the blame first --- your files will still be online a few months, years later)

- The product has to be Homogonous. It must be identical in all aspects. A server vs WoW which matches exact version is very dangerous. The best way to spred this is probably through the underground sources we have all grown to love

- You have to get the word out. Get people spamming the blizzard forums -- even if its "Omg look this is bad for blizzard --- there is a free server." As some of you already know any publicity is good publicity. Blizzard will react, its employees are being threatened, its company is being threatened.

- Finally it must be easy to enter and exit the servers as well as hosting. A client method just like helbeath has is a great way. Anyone can play private server and official without alot of file changing or security fears. The server hosting should also be easy. A server can go up and down in a matter of seconds, it might take a while to initially start but it has to be this way.

This is just supposed to be brainstorming on the distruction of blizzard's monopoly. There is absolutly no truth in this and i do not plan to do anything to harm blizzard in any way. This is simple theorizing, nothing more.

Dude, your korean open beta client and ur emu are not the real files. No, you dont have shit. Currently the only way you have to show it is hosting it and checking some new quest.
