You would be caught anyways. Your speed / cast timing has to be the same as what the server allows. 98% of most Private Servers have Anti-Hack systems now. Don't even try it...

Tommy has no clue what he's talking about and thinks you're trying to hack.

To answer your question, your cpu affects it the most. Running an intel will give you the best fps possible in hb also. Also, if you set your graphics acceleration to disabled through your display properties->troubleshooting that will help a slight bit (maybe 20-30fps). Other than that, just disable running apps, music players, anything that could use up any cpu time. We all know that low detail also makes your fps go up due to the method STech used to blend and add colors.

anyone can easily look at your post and come up with 2 things, either you wanna try to avoid being detected aka speed hacking , or you wanna go the way zero saw. different people have different judgments

This was writed by Orkl all credits go to him.

Ok I'm going to explain how your FPS effects your speed in Helbreath, seeing as most people don't know how it works, or simply just cannot comprehend it. So I am going to try and explain it as simply as possible.

The way Helbreath is engineered, is that it sends the packets to the server, once your computer has rendered them.

This means that your cast doesn't actually get sent to the server until it has rendered on your computer, meaning that if you are getting 100FPS and the person that you are casting at is getting 40FPS, your computer will render the cast at almost 3x the speed that the other persons will, meaning that on the other persons computer it will look like you are casting faster.

Ever seen someone run faster than you? Thats because running works on the same principle.. I can run laps around people that have slow computers, simply because my computer is faster.

But, in Helbreath there are defined speeds at which you can do things, thats why I dont zoom around the map when im running. But the speeds that are defined by helbreath doesn't account for slow computers. It only limits the speed at which a fast computer can render, but if slow computers cant render that fast, it means it will seem that other people are "hacking" as so many people like to refer it to.

Although ping can effect your speed somewhat, having 0 ping will not make your computer render faster. If you are running programs in the background, have little RAM and a shit house graphics card and processor, dont expect your helbreath to render all that greatly. Helbreath may seem like an old game, but its game code isn't optimized for speed, it is slapped together like a sandwich. If you need an example of this I can make you a small program, that will render a load of things on the screen. I can give you a sloppy coded one where you might get 200-300 FPS (dependent on your comp speed) or an optimized one where you might get (6000+++) FPS.

Im not saying that ping doesn't effect you at all, ping actually does play a big part in how your game LOOKS to you. If you have a 0 ping, things happen instantly on your screen (as long as your computer can render them fast enough) whereas if you have a ping of say 300-600, things may render fast, but the way other people and monsters move and cast looks weird to you. I will explain this in more detail - Lets just say that I had a ping of 0 to a server, and my computer can render Helbreath perfectly. I will see people running and casting normally. Whereas if I had a ping of 300-600, people may seem to "skip" when they run.

This "skipping" is caused by packet loss. For those who dont know what packet loss is, its when a packet is sent by either the client or server, and is never recieved by the other end. The skipping is caused by your computer recieving the next packet from the server which updates your screen. Seeing as you missed the previous packet, the person looks like they "skip" a few squares.

Ping also effects at which speed your spell "comes out". Your computer may render the casting fast enough, but when you click, if you have a high ping, you may notice a delay in the spell "coming out" of your character. This is caused by the length of time it takes for the server to recieve the spell packet and respond accordingly and update all clients.

I will explain how one of the oldest and most simple hacks work. Have you ever seen the hack (or used it) where you cast the spell, the words come up, the animation plays, and then you lock a certain value so that you can keep clicking and the spell keeps coming out? If so - you will be able to understand this better. This hack works because when your computer has finished rendering the animation, it sets that particular value to lets say "true" and then the packet is constructed from that value and sent to the server. So by locking that value at "True" you can keep sending packets to the server saying that you have casted a spell.

I think this problem was rectified in one of the later versions of Helbreath.

The speed at which you can send and recieve packets does play a big part in how your screen looks to you, someone with a lower ping will have a more "up-to-date" screen than you will. It might only a small difference, but the difference is there.

Simple summary:

-Ping doesn't effect your render speed
-Ping DOES effect how your game LOOKS to YOU
-FPS effects your casting and running speed.
-Helbreath renders your screen BEFORE sending packets.
-Slow computer + slow internet = slow helbreath
-Packet loss causes "jumping" or "jerking" of other players.

Don't bother. I alone have explained that so many times and no one seems to get it still. People still think ping = fps.

just comment for noobs:
fps = frames per second (on your screen)
ping = internet speed (server-client and client-server)
