I did it cuz i was in love with XML. But the xml format drops was really good :) I could do anything with parsed contents. ie "hello ppl its event i enter secret command and u will gain more rare drops. enjoy". it was really cool, i just type one command and ppl got cool event ;) And the xml was on website so when ppl saw xml with drop list they really think its was proffessional srv.

I still dont see anything which can't be done to a cfg. That command sounds 100% irrelevent to what format configs you use. The configs are to load settings into the server. Once it's in there it's totaly up to you how you want to play with the settings.

"once people saw XML with drop list they really think its was proffessional srv."

People still list "PHPs" as a section on their servers websites, the Helbreath community is not in any position to judge what is professional or not. Plus XML doesn't make you look professional, its not needed and there are easier ways to do things.

ro private servers used xml for the whole thing pretty much.. and yeah it works out really well too.

Please don't comment if you have no basis to back it up. It makes me want to bitch at you.

HB and RO are 2 different servers. Put aside the functionality of the 2 and then answer this; Whats the difference in how you config the 2? I don't care about what the file extension is or how cosmetically different it is I just mean what do you have to do? You set a field and job done. I'd say both acheive their job.

Invent a new format that requires 1024 bytes per field to set. It'd look cool and to HB players (note, to HB players) it'd look professional, but is it practical? XML is just extra shit that isn't required. A simple x = y does the job just fine.

I'm pretty sure they are. Some of the features are the same, but built with 2 different coding. If I remember correctly, RagnarokOnline is in C and Helbreath is C++. I side with Dax on this. Ragnarok benefits from the XML hence most are SQL now. Oh well, now I'm just rambling.. But why argue about which one is better and more "professional"? Who gives a shit really? It's up to the owner how he wants to build his server.

XML is much more readable. Long lines in cfgs sux. That was my point to make it.
