Unfortunatly i think the attitudes of some people around here who shoot down some of the noobs asking "stupid questions" kinda contributes, also all the arguing that takes place even in pinned threads like the 3.82 Server thread and others.

Nobody wants to post to get their head bitten off... as im probly about to

Then again, outpost has had problems for as long as i can remember theres been some sorta conflict going on

Humm... Mostly true. but :

1. There isn't any people here that like another one. Everyone hates anyone... The only things that peoples are able to say here are "i'm better than you", "you're a noob" or "you're a retard"...

2. Whatever you would release, there is always peoples to tell you that your work sucks cocks and that he can easilly make a better release. Anyways, nobody released any interesting thing since snoopy's 3.82 sources.

3. There is always noobs that come here, steal other's work and call it their's. For me, this is what is almost killing open source in this community...

4. There is less than 20 (more or less skilled) peoples in this community releasing some shit, for more than 200 leechers that visit this forum only for stealing everything that's posted here.

5. 90% of the requests are "EK trade plz", "ball trade plz", "3000+ dmg weapons please", "/iwantapwningcharinlessthan5mins command please"... THIS IS useless crap and peoples requesting it are fucking retarded noobs. Don't you agree ? Why nobody requested interesting features ? "improved quests system please", "auctions system please", "bounty hunting system please", "mail system please"...

6. Too many bad servers that lasts less than 1 month. Players are bored.

I dont take that as a flame, looks like its your opinion.. If you were to start calling me names whilst making the point, thats what i call flaming

1 + 2. Agreed, it would be nice if people didnt flame just for the hell of it. Even if you think you can do better, you could still say "hey man, good job, heres some constructive criticism" But i think thats asking too much of some people

3 + 4. Thats the problem with most open source projects and the internet in general people steal shit, modify shit ect and crap on about how its their own work. Hell, this whole forum is based on somthing stolen

5. I definetly agree, that is a waste of time. However i notice posts from people wanting to figure things out for themselves, not appearing rude or asking what you may call a stupid question only to get shot down. 1/2 the reson theres only a small ammount of skilled people is because when someone has a noobie question the get shot down and discouraged from learning at all.
Good example of this is a thread where someone asked how to compile in VS.NET (he could in vc++6.0) and gets called a noob and told to fuck off. :/

6. Servers die in a month because they are run by these dumbasses with the get everything in a day, huge stat/lvl attitude. Im sure most of these guys dont go on to try another server, but theres some who probly learn from the experience and make a better slightly longer lasting server.

Tho there is a small dedicated group of players out there still playing. Right now im in Vent with a bunch of the old HB-Cele people who are all looking for a good server and harassing me to make one. Im thinking of obliging them

Ive run servers before, but unfortunatly, i am no coder, just a noob who tries (and usually fails) to fix/change things untill someone who knows what their doing can help (usually loco). Point is, everyone needs to start somewhere, that somewhere is usually here. Especially since Helbreathss.tk went down.
